What the username looks like

A few username variations are in use at YukonU and there is no hard rule on what yours may be. Your username was configured when you first interacted with YukonU (or previously YukonCollege) and is based on your name at that time. An interaction means either

• applying to a program,
  
• registering for a continuing studies course
  
• being hired (contract, term or permanent employee).

I was a student first

Generally, your username will look like firstname.lastname@yukonu.ca.

Exceptions:

1. If you have any special characters in your name (accents, dashes, punctuations, etc.), they are removed.
2. If you have N/A as part of your name, it is ignored.
3. If you have a very long first and last name combination (20 characters or more), your user name will be your first name only.
4. If you do not have a first name, your username will be your last name only.
5. If the username has already been assigned, a number will be appended to your username.
   

I was staff first

Generally, your username will look like flastname@yukonu.ca where "f" is the first letter of your first name.

Exceptions:

1. If you have any special characters in your name (accents, dashes, punctuations, etc.), they are removed.
2. If you have N/A as part of your name, it is ignored.
3. If the username has already been assigned, a number will be appended to your username.
